Welcome to BTYC Sailsports

BTYC Sailsports Club is one of the larger sailing and windsurfing clubs in the London area, situated on the Welsh Harp Reservoir only 6 miles from Marble Arch.

We offer safe sailing and free training for all members on this large freshwater reservoir.

Our clubhouse and bar look directly out over a mile of water surrounded by parkland.

We have a great range of modern dinghies and windsurfing boards available free to members.

Whether you are an experienced dinghy racer or windsurfer, or a complete sailing novice you will get a warm welcome at BTYC!

Racing on Sunday 13th May WHSA Invitation Trophy

There were 4 BTYC GP14s (Roger/Serena, Jim/Susanne, Helen/Yvon and Phil/Chris) out of the 6 that started. There was one flying BTYC Laser (Wiebe) out of the 14 that participated.  The Winguru prediction was a very low wind starting with 4 knots, which indeed was the case when we arrived, but it quickly picked up to an average 10-12 knots and gusts of up to 23 knots. Great sailing weather which caused a decent number of capsizes in the laser fleet, especially on the (long) runs. The courses usually used the whole harp and where circle or triangularly shaped.

Phil/Chris has a brilliant first race (1st place) but had to leave the next two races to Roger/Serena who took away the Merlin Trophy (!) The GP14 Invitation Cup is still with the previous winner who is being tracked down (Richard, Helen is on your tail!). Unfortunately, there is no price (except for a healthy dosis of pride) for best BTYC laser, but I ended with a respectable 5th place.

Inland Championships

Helen, Andy and Mark (crewing for Richard Cornes) attended these championships - Helen/Andy came 35th and Richard/Mark came 20th. Well done for showing the flag for BTYC.
