SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

The bar is open during and after most racing and training and at other times when enough people are present.

We have evening barbeques to celebrate various events throughout the year.

The Two Pubs Race used to be sailing chase around the Harp, stopping at each end for a pub run. This was cancelled in 2007 due to temporary access problems at the East end of the Harp. This year it will be in pulling (rowing) boats.

The 10-Hour Race is a relay with either helm or crew handing over after each lap, right under spectators' eyes. This year it is followed by a BBQ & Jazz Band

There is a Guy Fawkes bonfire and fireworks party on the Harp each year.

The big social event is the Laying Up Supper - traditionally when boats were put away for the winter. BTYC sails throughout the year, but we still celebrate and give out prizes. Last year's was delayed and changed to the clubhouse extension "Topping-Out" party. This year's will be back in December. Click on photos of 2008 Topping-Out party or photos of 2006 party
