Learn to sail

At BTYC we pride ourselves on offering low cost training for anyone. For the price of your membership you can learn to sail or windsurf with no further expenditure. We are an RYA training establishment and provide free beginner and improver training to members, staffed by our volunteers who are RYA qualified.

You can try us out at one of our Thursday evening training sessions which run throughout the summer from April to September. A taster costs £10 - there's no need to book, just turn up as soon as possible after 6pm with a change of clothes, soft-soled shoes that you don't mind getting wet and a windproof jacket.

2011 training season

Our Thursday evening sessions start on 7 April for dinghies and 14 April for windsurfing. See Dinghies section for more detail.
